because I was a little tipsy when I wrote it.
So if you missed it... it's gone now. Sorry.
Raining here in M-town... Hurricane Dennis or whatever is left of him decided to visit these parts. Sort of reflects my mood today.
I have the "all the odds are against me" attitude.
My grandfather came over this weekend to take a look at the eaves on my house - here are his words exactly:
"How in the world did you get yourself into this mess?"
Gee.. you are so optimistic, grandpa...
I need a carpenter. Bad.
Then this morning, I was letting Newby and Trusty outside and my storm door fell off the frame. Seriously. It just... fucking fell off.
And last night, a mystery leak decided to appear in my laundry room. The whole corner near the door leading to my backyard is soaked with water.
I feel like crying.
But Snidge has faced bigger problems than this and has overcome! Yes indeed, I have... this is just going to take some money and some time.
What else, what else....
Saw War of the Worlds this weekend. Kinda creepy.
Went to a party with Aims. Had her get sort of snippy with me over my ho-hum attitude towards anyone she tried to introduce me too.
Had my first guitar lesson Saturday afternoon! I learned 'G.' Which is kinda funny because Broad's friend Danny taught me that same chord when I was visiting her a few weeks ago. Watch out... I'll be strumming soon.
Met with the singer Thursday as Turtle was banging on his drums. I'll tell you a short story about the song itself. I love the way Aimee Mann tells sort of a tale in each of her songs. I mean, I can picture the exact scene that she's singing about... and so I attempted with this one song to do that.. Obviously, I am not as good as Ms. Mann.
Anyway... the scene is two strangers at a bar. A guy and a girl. They are both commiserating over their boyfriend/girlfriend. I wrote it in such a way that a guy and a girl would sing alternate lines... But the singer sort of wants to change it so that it's a one person part.. and I think that it loses it's meaning then... it changes everything.
I'm not sure I'm down with that.
But we'll see.
I guess that's it on my front. Boring I know. I have a lot of you guys to write back to and read and catch up on. I've been a bad blogger lately. Sorry. In a bit of a funk right now.
Aw, I'm sure everything will be fine soon. In the laundry room at my dads house, if it rains too much it will flood, one time he slipped in it..hahaha
